Danlin Zhang's Recent Works

An award winning illustrator based in New York, originally from China, Danlin is currently an Adjunct Professor at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) teaching in the Illustration Department.

Danlin has been very busy this year working on some wonderful book projects, from princesses and underwater worlds to psychological horror, she was able to handle every project brilliantly. Here we are showing a few of her recent works.



The Eyes Are The Best Part (Illumicrate)

Danlin illustrated the dust jacket (shown above) and the hard cover (shown below) of this feminist psychological horror about the making of a female serial killer.

Mistress of Lies (Illumicrate)


Danlin illustrated this stunning cityscape for the hard cover of Mistress of Lies, by K. M. Enright, a world of magic and intrigue and the court of a vampire king.

Fathomfolk (Illumicrate)


Danlin illustrated the hard cover of the novel by Eliza Chan and beautifully recreated the semi-submerged city of Tiankawi, a place between humans and the fathomfolk - sirens, sea witches, kelpies, and kappas - who live in its waters.

A Study in Drowning (Lilac Librarys)


Danlin illustrated the dust jacket for this dark fantasy novel for young adults, by Ava Reid, for Lilac Librarys. This beautiful artwork deserves to be viewed on a larger format to truly appreciate all of its wonderful details. The book jacket can be purchased on the Lilac Librarys' website

Song of The Six Realms (Owlcrate)


Danlin's cover for Owlcrate's exclusive edition of Song of The Six realms, by Judy I. Lin, delicately portrays Xue, the talented young musician protagonist of the story.
